Slow Food Movement- Good, Clean, Fair Food

March 16, 2010

Since we are on this whole hippy-dippy Global Nomad kick, I thought I’d share about something I’m totally fascinated with: the Slow Food Movement (thx, Portland, Aya). It actually started many years back but I think “organies” alike are starting to pay attention. Here is the jist – Slow Food changes food system by reconnecting Americans with the people, traditions, plants, animals, fertile soils and waters that produce our food. It’s about education. The movement works to inspire a transformation in food policy, production practices and market forces so that they ensure equity, sustainability and pleasure in the food we eat – delicious, ecologically sustainable and socially just. Sounds good to me. Where do I sign up?
